Security guards must be 18 years of age and satisfy the following requirements:

• U.S. citizen / resident alien
• High school diploma (or equivalent)
• State requirements (fingerprints / background check)
• 16 hours of training

Special police candidates must be 21 years of age and pass an extensive background investigation. Other requirements include:

• High school diploma (or equivalent)
• NC driver's license
• Basic law enforcement training program
• Urine analysis screening
• Psychological test*
• Polygraph test*

*Lateral transfers are not required to undergo polygraph or psychological tests.

Private law enforcement customizes police protection to your needs. An on-site officer allows for quick, efficient response should an incident occur on your property.

Training

Our law enforcement officers are fully certified in accordance with the North Carolina Criminal Justice and Training Standards, as outlined in NC General Statute 74-E. They possess the same authority and power of arrest as local government officers (police and sheriff) while on the property they serve.

Training

We perform thorough background checks on all of our security personnel. Officers are required to attend 16 hours of training within the 30 days after employment and are certified by the North Carolina Private Protective Services Board (NC General Statute 74-C).

United Special Police, LLC was established in 1999.  Since that time, we have been dedicated to providing a high level of service in two areas: special police and on-site security.

Officers and guards at United work on a range of locations, including businesses, schools, gated communities and special events to keep people and property safe—with an emphasis on honor and community partnership.
